SPONSOR INFORMATION
Dear Friends,
We are very excited to announce the Second Annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament which is scheduled for the weekend of May 3 and 4, 2013. We are hoping your business will consider becoming a sponsor.
For our inaugural tournament last year, we had 40 registered boats, an average of 4 anglers per boat, 100% of the entry fees went back into prizes and more than $25,000 was raised to support the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. A success we were all proud of and plan to have an even better tournament this year!
The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is the location of
the first recorded Tarpon caught and it is fitting that the Friends
of the Refuge hosts a Tarpon tournament to benefit the refuge and
its work in protecting the wildlife on land as well as in the water.
We would be honored to have you and your business become a sponsor,
joining Doc Ford’s and Diversified Yacht Services who have already
signed up again as 2013 sponsors. Our Second Annual “Ding” Darling
Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament is scheduled for the weekend of May 3
and 4, 2013.
With 100% of the entry fees going back into the winnings, the only
way this tournament makes money for the refuge is through
sponsorships and donations. Please consider showing your support of
“Ding” Darling by becoming one of the early sponsors for the 2nd
Annual tournament, which is also tax-deductible. A description of
the sponsorship opportunities is included.
World renowned travel expert, Arthur Frommer listed Sanibel Island
and “Ding” Darling as his #1 favorite travel location in the world.
USA Today named Sanibel in their top ten list of places to visit,
specifically mentioning “Ding” Darling. With beaches as the number
one destination for tourists, the J.N. “Ding” Darling NWR, is
consistently listed as number two, bringing nearly 800,000 visitors
from around the world each year. Your support, along with the other
sponsors of this tournament will do a lot in promoting the
importance of protecting our lands and waters to these people and
others.
Thank you for your consideration of support. We hope you will become
a part of our 2013 “Ding Darling” & Doc Ford’sTarpon Tournament!
Sincerely,
Birgit P. Vertesch, Executive Director
